Enhance Data Handling
with unique insight and information extracted from mobie lidar data.


Handling lidar data is hard because they are usually unorganized and in very large volume. LidarTools offers data-driven approach to help users generate the metadata of a point cloud by recovering various information of data collection. With such information, the point cloud users will know better on how the data are collected and the uncertainty of the point cloud. LidarTools also provides a novel way of visualizing and annotating the point cloud on a 2.5D scan panorama to further enhance the communication and management of mobile lidar data.
Extracting features from mobile lidar can be often tedious and time-consuming due to labor-intensive manual processes. LidarTools has powerful segmentation algorithm that is able to group millions of data points into a number of segments automatically within minutes, which can take hours, if not days, of manual processing. On top of the segmented point cloud, it is straightforward to extract one or more types of objects of interest.
LidarTools gives the users a great starting point for a wide variety of analysis given rich information in the lidar data. With an automated framework and high computation performance, LidarTools could unlock novel applications taking advantage of the rich information in the data, which is impractical to be done with a manual workflow. Ultimately, with LidarTools, users will significantly increase the value of the data and take full advantage of mobile lidar technology.
